EWP Board of Advice in front of the castle

On Monday 28^th of September EWP Board of Advice gathered in Brussels for their periodic meeting to discuss latest development within the association and future strategies. Following the meeting the participants socated in the Watermael-Boitsfortt park (South of Brussels) where it is foreseen to eco-restore an ancient castle and turn it into the “European Water House”.

The group strolled in the park’s alleys before getting to the castle. The size of the building as well as its surroundings made an extremely positive impression among the group. Indeed, the beautiful edifice built in the 19^th century is nowadays protected as an heritage building and situated at the heart of a wonderful regional landscaped park of 7 hectares.

During the visit Agnes Vaillier, Project manager for the Water House, explained EWP’s project regarding the building. Acknowledging  the potential of such a site for the development of a unique didactic area that will promote European sustainable water use, the members of the Board of Advice also recognize the amount of work that this project will represent. However, they remained confident that this place could easily become THE place where professionals, private and public sectors, local, regional, national and European decision-makers, etc; will be able to exchange and transfer knowledge for our common good regarding water.
