2010

In 2010 the EWP will organise a European Policy Forum for the fourth consecutive time. In 2010 the Forum is however divided into two related parts:

The Aquawareness Policy Forum “Water 2030 – who cares?” on 22 March 2010 in Brussels.

Based on a strategic policy review process, identifying the major obstacles and weaknesses as well as key actions necessary to implement the aims of the Water Vision for Europe by 2030, this highlevel event will suggest, discuss and refine concrete policy recommendations to the new European decision makers – the members of the European Parliament, European Commission and the Council Presidency, which could serve as a new blue deal for Europe’s water agenda.

The European Youth Water Summit, 16-18 March 2010 in Brussels European Youth Water Summit (EYWS), will give the floor to young citizens aged between 15 and 25 years and coming from all 27 EU Member states, to share and discuss water community challenges, needs and priorities and their experience and activities done in this field. They will be included into the debates and discussions at European level, enabling an active exchange with European decision makers – the Members of the European Parliament, representatives of the incoming European Commission as well as the Spanish Council Presidency, but also with peers in different regions and countries.
