MODULE A4: Internet platform aquawareness.eu
The European Water Partnership (EWP) is currently creating an internet exchange platform “aquawareness.eu” to pool information on good examples of campaigns, activities and projects for sustainable water management in a publically accessible space. Aquawareness.eu will offer existent campaigns on water a focal point to communicate and disseminate creative actions and will serve as a source for inspiration, information and networking.
Up to the present information on awareness raising campaigns in Europe is very scattered. However, motivation for action towards sustainable water management can only arise when people know what to do – when they are provided with easily applicable solutions. Aquawareness.eu will facilitate action towards sustainable water management with one mouse click. The portal will inform on water campaigns and show concrete examples and actions for everyone who is willing to take action but not knowing how to start. By sharing and exchanging knowledge and experience, the platform will enable other communities and regions to easily and quickly apply already tested activities. Networks will be enhanced and joint projects started by getting into contact through this portal. On the other hand, activities around Europe will be provided with high visibility, promoting their efforts way beyond their own community.
The EWP invites everybody to present and share smart awareness raising activities and projects on the Aquawareness portal. Only restriction – the campaign should be already ongoing or finished and should take place in Europe (as defined by the Council of Europe).
If you would like that your activity is part of the Aquawareness portal, please send us an email with a short description of your project and a link to email@example.com.
The creation and development of the Aquawareness portal is enabled by the Coca Cola Foundation within the EWP’s “Empowering water conscious citizens” program. The EWP receives great support from Women for Water Partnership (WfWP) in advising, supporting and providing feedback during the process of creation.
