The objective of the dialogue platform is to facilitate the identification of gaps in knowledge, communication, actions and management from the water and energy related sectors. This will include looking at the impact of climate change from a short term and a long-term perspective.

One of the actions of the dialogue platform will be to review EU Water and Energy Policies for complementarity and inconsistencies, of the objective here is to contributing to strategies for reaching 2020 objectives of reducing carbon emissions by 20% (e.g. through the 2020 renewable energy targets) and to the improvement of European water bodies’ ecological status by 2015, under the Water Framework Directive. The dialogue invites Energy sector actors affected by the impacts of Climate Change on water quality and quantity. And Water sector actors affected by Climate Change on water and utilizing energy.
