EU Commission Assesses State of Play of the Circular Economy
Jan 31st, 2017 |
One year after the adoption of the circular economy package, the European Commission has published a report detailing the concrete actions taken since putting the Action Plan to work. When it comes to water, one important step was taken in the past year, which was the publication of an inception impact assessment for the upcoming initiative on minimum water quality requirements of water reused for irrigation or aquifer recharge.
This proposal is currently open for public consultation which closes at the end of the month. In an effort to stimulate dialogue with stakeholders, the Commission together with the European Economic and Social Committe are set to launch a circular economy platform during a conference held on 9-10 March.
