Testing New Approaches in Water Management in the Chemical Sector E4 Water

Apr 28th, 2016 |

The E4 Water project brought together leading chemical industries, water sector companies, innovative RTD centers and universities, and water authorities at their final event in Brussels. The project achieved reductions in water use, waste water generation, energy use while also creating direct economic benefits for the industrial case study sites involved in the project.

Participants clearly concluded that solutions for more efficient integrated industrial water use are still needed and that water stewardship pressures, risk of drought or competition for water resources are all important drivers for it. EWS was presented as a possible approach and showcased some of the lessons learned from the ECPA Pre-Screening project, which also targeted the chemical sector. The image below highlights how EWS can help the chemical sector in targeting some of their hot spots.
