More than ever before, political and business leaders realize that a holistic approach to water management is crucial to ensure long-term operations. The Global Risk Report produced by the World Economic Forum highlighted water crises as its third highest risk of concern. This is the third consecutive year in which water crises emerged in the top five risks.
EWP would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your continued support of EWP’s activities in 2014, and we look forward to our continued collaboration for 2015.
The European Water Partnership Programme 2015
EWP will focus on three pillars in 2015:
1. Water System 4.0 : The next generation of water management systems
The European Innovation Partnership on Water mandated EWP to lead a consortium of 10 National Water Partnerships helping European SME to finance, innovate and export new water treatment technologies. This Demand-driven Innnovation Support for SMEs through the Network of National Water Partnerships for jobs and growth in Europe) has been selected as a priority under the European Innovation Partnership on Water. Europe is in need of systemic change with regards to water innovation. The broad SME-network under the umbrella of EWP is eager to contribute in concrete terms towards this new approach: Water System 4.0.

The European Water Stewardship (EWS) program is in full run dedicated to advancing water stewardship and responding to the growing need for robust and credible water risk management around Europe. Water authorities and businesses are using the EWS standard in order to successfully assess, verify and communicate responsible water stewardship practices. EWP will support initiatives to grow the application of EWS in Europe and abroad, and work towards alligment with the international Alliance for Water Stewardship in 2015.
