Communications internship vacancy

You have innovative communication and presentation skills, an interest in water issues and would like to be part of an international highly motivating team in Brussels?
The European Water Partnership (EWP) is currently looking for a Communications Intern to assist the Communications Manager in providing professional visibility to the numerous activities planned for 2012. Active, flexible and outgoing candidates are invited to send their application letter and CV to the EWP explaining how their skills and experiences would contribute to the work of the EWP.
The intern will assist in the following areas:
External communications
- Implementation of the EWP’s annual communication strategy
- Communication on each of the EWP’s programs and projects
- Organization of conferences and workshops
- Maintanance and further development of good relations with the EU media community
- Communication of the EWP’s mission to international EU correspondents and decision-makers
- Improvement and update of the EWP website
- Preparation and dessimination of press releases, newsletters, media briefings and other relevant communications material
- Improvement and further extension of the EWP database
Internal communications
- Communication with EWP members and partners
Skills / Qualifications
- A university degree
- First experiences in Public Relations, communication/media are an asset
- Excellent written and spoken English (native-speaker level) and good knowledge of French; additional European languages an asset
- Knowledge of EU institutions and the EU decision-making process
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience with design software and IT an advantage
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Able to establish productive relationships with people at all levels
- Positive and adaptable approach to problem solving
- Innovative and creative
- Able to work as part of an international team
- Pays attention to details
Start: As soon as possible
Duration: 6 months
