STREAM e-Learning course has officially started: you are invited to register online

Brussels, 10.11.2011. The STREAM project is glad to announce that the 1st module of the e-Learning Course is now available online. It will be accessible until December 2011.

Through a very practical approach, this online course is addressed to three main categories of actors involved in water technology, research and management issues: policy makers, researchers and technicians/managers/entrepreneurs in companies active in the water sector.

The course has the objective of establishing and fostering a dialogue between these categories of stakeholders and the format and its modalities allow complete interactions among the participants and the speakers. It is composed of 3 thematic modules plus 1 final module for project work and work based self-assessment.

The first module of the course addresses EU water legislation, principles and practices in EU member countries and is supported by material coming from: the University of Dundee, the STREAM Summer School and the Policy Seminar experts, plus other official documentations from the European Commission.  The module is composed of 5 phases, each of them with specific pedagogical objectives. It will last 8 weeks for a total of 32 hours (4 hours per week).

The specific subjects of the EU water legislation module are:

  • Water Framework Directive
  • Floods Directive
  • Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive
  • Drinking Water Directive
  • Bathing Directive 2006
  • UNCE Water Convention

These subjects will be delivered through the following learning materials:

  • E-lectures given by experts related to the topic course
  • Supporting materials: videos, PowerPoint presentations, publications, articles
  • Assistance of experienced and professional tutors
  • Support from water experts for specific forum sessions once in 2 weeks

Eligible participants have professional activity in the water domain and fluency in written English.
