Brussels, 2 December 2010. Mr. Fritz Barth, Vice-Chairman of the European Water Partnership (EWP), will moderate the session “Case studies on forestry and water” during the European Biodiversity Conference “Sustainable Agriculture supporting European Biodiversity“, taking place at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, on the 7th of December 2010.

The conference will emphasize the fact that farmers and foresters can provide solutions in halting the loss of biodiversity. The event will present the indispensable support and participation of various land users and land managers in the protection of biodiversity. The CAP reform is more than ever a priority topic on the agenda of the European Union and will certainly provide stimulating debate.

The Conference is organized by Paolo de Castro, Chair of the Chair Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and Véronique Mathieu, President of the Intergroup Sustainable Hunting, Biodiversity, Rural Activities, Agriculture and Forestry in collaboration with the European Landowners’ Organization (ELO), a member of the EWP.
