EWP AQUAWARENESS Project wins National Energy Globe Award

Brussels, 23 April 2010. The International Energy Globe Jury has selected the EWP “Aquawareness – The European Water Awareness and Water Stewardship Programme” for the National Energy Globe Award for the country Belgium.
The Energy Globe country certificates will be presented by high-ranking representatives of UNEP and the Government of Rwanda during the Rwanda World Environment Days in Kigali, Rwanda, 3 June 2010.
Agnes Biesiekierska, project manager of Aquawareness, is delighted with the Jury decision: “The Energy Globe Award is an internationally recognized, well known and prestigious environmental prize. The EWP is really proud that Aquawareness was selected for the most successful national project.”
About the ENERGY GLOBE award
The ENERGY GLOBE is awarded annually in the realm of a huge television gala that is broadcast worldwide to some three billion households. From all over the world, projects are showcased that conserve and protect our resources or that employ renewable energy. The goal is to present successful sustainable projects to a broad audience, for many of our environmental problems already have good, feasible solutions. Each year some 800 projects and initiatives from all over the world are submitted to compete for the award. The Energy Globe is awarded on national (in over 100 nations) and international level (World Energy Globe Award for Sustainability).
